Mexico North Chapter Wins 2012 Bordes Award
The 2012 Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security has been awarded to ASIS Chapter #239 – Mexico North. The chapter was selected by the ASIS Foundation Board of Trustees from a record pool of 19 applications and will receive a customized, two-day physical security education program in the fall of 2012.
In her application, Chapter Chair Julieta Munoz noted the increased need for security practitioners in her region to have the latest information on best practices in physical security. “Drug trafficking operations have pushed many companies, businesses, and schools to strengthen their physical security. It is no longer optional,” observes Munoz.
Foundation Trustee Dr. Linda Florence commented, “The violence along the border has become a significant concern for those living and working in the area. We believe this program will benefit the many security practitioners on both sides of the border.”
