The ASIS Foundation has awarded the 2009 Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security to the Central Pennsylvania ASIS chapter. Established in 2008, this annual award covers the costs for one ASIS chapter to receive a two-day, locally delivered, customized physical security program.
“This award’s intent is to encourage growth in membership and educational opportunities,” said David C. Davis, CPP, president of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “The Central Pennsylvania chapter showed the strongest commitment to expanding these opportunities.”
Michael Nagurny, CPP, chair of the Central Pennsylvania chapter, said, “The presentation of a physical security program of this caliber will offer our chapter greater visibility.”
The ASIS Foundation Board of Trustees established the Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security to recognize Bordes’ commitment to ASIS International and to the security profession. Bordes died in 2008, after a career of more than 30 years in the security industry.
